OUR MANIFESTO
Akademie 3 does not propound any doctrines or dogmas. It has no ready-made answers to the question of how the Spirit of Aliveness can be articulated or expressed in the 21st century. That is why its members do not impose any prohibitions on thinking.
However, based on knowledge of the cultural heyday of the Spirit of Aliveness in antiquity and the Renaissance, it is possible to recognize some of its essential features pointing the way for the work of the Akademie 3.
- The Spirit of Aliveness is a spirit of connectedness always blowing where committed encounter takes place: Encounter between people, between people and nature, between people and culture, between people and the world.
- The Spirit of Aliveness is a spirit of creativity inspiring humans to act creatively and stimulating new beginnings.
- The Spirit of Aliveness is a spirit of individuality inspiring people to by conversing develop their unique and distinctive identity.
- The Spirit of Aliveness is a spirit of diversity loving the infinite abundance of life – for it manifests and expresses itself through infinite diversity.
- The Spirit of Aliveness is a spirit of freedom that, whenever it blows, inspires people to unfold their potential in interaction with others and with the world at large.
- The Spirit of Aliveness is a spirit of sustainability and ecology. Wherever it reigns, it promotes the preservation and development of life. When people are embraced by it, they no longer consider themselves “masters and rulers of nature” (Descartes), but rather meshes in the great web of life.
- The Spirit of Aliveness is a spirit of harmony, proving its potency through balancing living systems in such a way that they harmonise with themselves and their environment. Harmony is never harmonistic. It prevails even or particularly where tensions exist, without blocking the whole.
- The Spirit of Aliveness is a spirit of beauty. It is not concerned with being efficient, functional or profitable. It inspires people to embrace play and culture. Its intention is to unfold life to the full bloom of its beauty.
- The Spirit of Aliveness is a spirit of love. Those who are seized by it know that they are intimately connected with the living world and all its beings – and are moved by the desire to serve them.
